Event Fees:
$10 registration fee online, $15 on March 17, $20 on March 18
$10 per tournament for MvC2, CvS2, 3rd Strike,Tekken 5, Guilty Gear#Reload, ST
$5 per tournament for all other tournaments
$5 per person on any Team Tournaments
Notice the registration fee. This is done so Texas Showdown can offset its operating costs, the inevitable trash that will be left each night, possible extended hours, and possible damage to the machines (sticks, buttons, things exploding). The registration fee is mandatory. You will not be allowed to enter any tournaments if this fee is not paid. Once you sign up and have paid your entry fee, there are no refunds. Only exception is if there are less than sixteen entrants for a particular tournament. If this occurs, all entrants will have their money refunded to them. In addition, we encourage to have people register online to help save on time at the event.
Payouts:
1st place - 70% of the pot
2nd place - 20% of the pot
3rd place - 10% of the pot
Top 16 qualifiers for the pool play will receive a TS6 dogtag.
Tournament Format:
Singles -
MvC2, CvS2, 3rd Strike, Reload, and Tekken 5 will be seperated into 8 round robin pools. Top 2 will qualify into a reseted 16 man double elim bracket.
Tekken DR, Guilty Gear Slash, and Hokuto no Ken will be run 2/3 winners, 1 game losers, double elimination brackets. Every other game will be a normal 2/3 double elimination bracket.
General Rules
No damaging the machines
Pausing will receive a warning and forfeiture of that round pending the judge’s descretion
No game breaking glitches
Gambit glitch
Freezing glitches(accidental glitches will be determined by judges)
No cloning
Still no Akuma in ST(Daniel!)
No Kliff, Justice, Black or Gold characters in GGXX #r
No order changing at the start up screen for CvS2. Winners must keep same characters, groove, and ratios.
There are no ties, or forfeits allowed at all in any tournament this year. ALL matches must be played out, regardless of what region or city both players are from. If anybody tries to forfeit or tie with another opponent, then both players will be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS!
