Houston is served by two airports, Houston Hobby (HOU) and Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). It is your choice in which airport to fly into, each is roughly the same distance to the venue.
Consoles used: Playstation 4, XBox One, Nintendo Switch, Arcade (Super Turbo, 3rd Strike, Vampire Savior, Street Fighter Alpha 2).
We will be using a variety of monitors, however, each game will have the same monitor for all stations.
We will have a BYOC area available throughout the event dedicated for casual play.
You will be able to take pictures and record videos of the event itself at your own leisure. Twitch IRL streams are allowed. Filming video of streamed matches is not allowed. If clarification is needed, contact any staff member throughout the weekend.
NO. The schedule will be posted on the website and social media, and will have a copy onsite. It is your responsibility to show up on time! When your name is called, you have only five(5) minutes to report to your match. Failure to appear after those 5 minutes will result in a loss. Absolutely no exceptions! And no crying about it!
YES. We will be implementing more measures for sanitization for Texas Showdown 2023. We currently don't know what that entails yet, as we shall monitor COVID-19 status and upcoming FGC events to help determine the best course of action.
YES. Children 10 and under are allowed into Texas Showdown without purchasing a spectator pass. Children that are older than 10 need to purchase a spectator pass and need to be accompanied with a parent at all times.
BYOC stands for Bring Your Own Console. We will provide an area where people can bring their own consoles and systems and play casuals or even throw side events for fighting games that we do not host.
